1 Million World Cup Keep-ups Challenge

On the 9th of June 2006 the FIFA World Cup will begin in Munich, Germany. Throughout the month-long tournament England Footvolley internationals James Titley and David Donkin, along with a team put together by Kick 4 Life, have been set the challenge of going to Germany and completing 1 million keep-ups that must be completed with fans from ALL 32 nations taking part in the competition.

The boys will have to travel the width and breadth of Germany in search of not only fans from every country taking part, but also those who are willing to join in on the challenge. Their search will be made all the more difficult because it will be impossible for them to get to the matches of every nation because of the hectic fixture schedule. Therefore, it means that hard work alone will not ensure the successful completion of the challenge…they will need a bit of luck as well!

As well as raising money for good causes this challenge aims to be symbolic in uniting the world to help fight poverty and disease in the 3rd World. All this through the universal language of football…

Kick 4 Life is a registered charity that uses football as a tool to fight poverty and disease in the world's poorest countries. As the most popular game on the planet, football has the power to unite, bring hope and create opportunities. To make this a reality, we aim to:

  • Enhance the preservation and protection of good health throughout the world, in particular in relation to issues surrounding HIV/AIDS by the provision of information and advice to those at risk or who are suffering the effects of HIV/AIDS, and the provision of financial assistance to those effected.
  • The relief of poverty, hardship, and distress throughout the world by provision of financial and/or material assistance of those in need
